The purpose of our ministry is to resource local church leaders in Portugal in three key areas: Biblical Counseling, leadership development and mentoring.
BIBLICAL COUNSELING
Since we have been involved in Biblical counseling for many years, we can assist our Portuguese churches in this imporant area. Our belief in the sufficiency of the Scriptures encourages us to use the Word of God to help people work through difficulties and trials. It is our desire to help local churches through counseling and through training counselors. There is already a small group of leaders who desire to continue in their development of soul care for those in their ministry.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Every organization needs leaders and it has been our passion to equip men and women to effectively serve in their local churches. Ephesians 4 and 2 Timothy 2 encourage leaders to train others to do the work of the ministry. We have had many years of teaching and training that focus on glorifying God through the local church. It is an exciting time in Portugal as we have many people who studied with us in the past and are busy serving. We look forward to joing with them as they reproduce themselves in the lives of those they serve.
MENTORING
The evangelical percentage in Portugal remains at .04% (thats less than one-half of one percent). There remain whole counties with little to no gospel witness. Even in this stark landscape, God continues to work. Church are looking for new and exciting ways to start new churches. We have extensive experience in helping local churches dream big and reach new areas.
We will be helping churches form micro-networks. This is the joining together of churches to accomplish what they could not accomplish alone. It is amazing how God blesses when churches partner together for the kingdom of God.
